چکیده

Background: The PI3K/AKT/m TOR pathway is activated in gastric cancer (GC). This may be an appropriate target for GC therapy. Such therapy involve inhibiting cell proliferation, enhancing apoptosis, and restoring the sensitivity of cells to chemotherapy. Aim: To study expression PI3K/AKT/mTOR Egyptian patients with GC. Methods: Enrolled Patients were divided into 2 groups, group 1 included 23 lymph node metastatic (LNM) (GC) 10 non-metastatic Liver renal biochemical tests, CBC, H. pylori testing, CEA, CA19-9 & radiological work up done. Upper Gastrointestinal endoscopy was done diagnose site, size morphology take biopsy from suspicious lesion, adjacent mucosa all parts stomach. had received surgical resection when appropriate. harvested tumor tissue processed histopathology as well Immunohistochemical staining (IHC) detection PI3K/AKT/mTOR. IHC score mTOR, AKT PI3K (ranging 0 12) calculated follows: Grade stain intensity × coloration rate. A ≥4 considered positive. Results: mTOR positive 54.5%, 72.7% 36.4% cases. There significantly higher (87%) than (40%), p=0.010. LNM (median 2.5), p=0.028. at cutoff value more 3 a statistically significant discriminator between GC, AUC=0.743, p=.014, sensitivity, 87% specificity, 60%. Conclusion: discriminate LN

Eupafolin ameliorates lipopolysaccharide-induced cardiomyocyte autophagy via PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway

Objective(s): Eupafolin, a major active component of Eupatorium perfoliatum L., has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is responsible for myocardial depression. A line of evidences revealed that LPS induces autophagy in cardiomyocytes injury. This study aims to evaluate the effects of eupafolin on LPS-induced cardiomyocyte autophagy...

Targeting PI3K/Akt/mTOR Signaling in Cancer

The phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt and the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathways are two pathways crucial to many aspects of cell growth and survival, in physiological as well as in pathological conditions (e.g., cancer). Indeed, they are so interconnected that, in a certain sense, they could be regarded as a single, unique pathway. In this paper, after a general ove...
